Continental Disc Corporation's STAR X Rupture Disc is a unique scored reverse acting rupture disc for protecting equipment, vessels and systems from potentially damaging overpressure. The STAR X Rupture Disc is available in low burst pressures with a wide choice of materials to choose from. This reverse acting, non-reclosing rupture disc is ideal for primary and/or secondary system relief protection or, when used to isolate a safety relief valve, provides an effective means of fugitive emission control. Additional system protection applications include installation in transfer piping, chemical reactors, pressure vessels, storage vessels, and heat exchangers.

Continental Disc Corporation's ZAP & KBA reverse acting rupture discs utilize knife blades to open the rupture discs as reversal occurs. The ZAP & KBA rupture discs have the media pressure acting on the convex side of the rupture disc, placing it in compression. When the burst pressure rating of the rupture disc is reached, the compression loading on the rupture disc causes it to reverse, snapping it through its neutral position and through the knife blades resulting in a full opening.
